Here is a summary of John Correia’s analysis points from the video:
• See the definition of Good, Sane, Sober, Moral, Prudent Self-Defense.

• Be extra attentive (look, listen, smell, even gut sensations) to possible threats when you’re in transitional spaces such as entering and exiting a car, a building, etc.

• Paying attention buys you time (as in spatial distance from a threat) and time buys you protective and defensive options.

• Don’t be paranoid in your situational awareness; be curious. Identify a pattern (a baseline) in a situation, then recognize anomalies (threat indicators—the presence or absence of something off-pattern) to that baseline.

• Be mindful of the Cooper Color Code.

• Deal with the biggest threat first.

• Maintain a solid shooting grip and a stable shooting stance to achieve accurate defensive action. “It is hard to miss fast enough to win a gunfight, but it is easy to hit slow enough to lose one.” Be both fast and accurate with marksmanship fundamentals.

• FIBSA: Fudge, I’m Being Shot At. FIBS: Fudge, I’ve Been Shot. A reminder to carry a sufficient number of rounds to defensively end a threat. More capacity equals more options.

• Always be able to reasonably articulate the rationale for every defensive action you make (such as moving the bad guy’s gun once he is neutralized). Ensure scene safety.

• Remember the gunfight acronym: TAP-IFFS
- Threat — Is the threat down? Did I hit him/her? Do I need to shoot him/her again?
- Accomplices — Did the threat bring his/her buddies to the fight? What are his/her buddies doing?
- Partner — Is my partner OK? Is he/she in need of my assistance?
- Injured — Am I or someone else injured? Do I need to deal with their injuries?
- Firearm — What condition is my gun in? Is it still in functional form, or did I have a malfunction that I need to fix? Do I need to perform a proactive magazine reload?
- Followup — What’s important for me to be doing right now to make myself safer?
- Seek help — Call 9-1-1.
